Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) unsalted butter
  • 10 oz mini marshmallows (about 6 cups), divided
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt (optional)
  • Optional toppings: sprinkles, chocolate chips, candy mix-ins

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a large pot over low heat.
  2. Add most of the mini marshmallows (reserve 1 cup) and stir until completely melted and smooth.
  3. Stir in vanilla extract and sea salt if using, then remove from heat.
  4. Fold in Rice Krispies cereal and remaining marshmallows until evenly coated.
  5. Transfer the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch pan and gently press down with a buttered spatula or wax paper.
  6. Let cool completely at room temperature.
  7. Cut into squares and serve.
