This 5-Ingredient Easy Classic Baked Ziti is a comforting, cheesy, and satisfying pasta bake made with minimal prep. Perfect for busy weeknights or make-ahead meals.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ziti pasta (or penne/rigatoni)
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook pasta in salted boiling water until just al dente, then drain.
  3. In a large bowl, mix pasta with marinara sauce and ricotta cheese until well combined.
  4. Spread half of the pasta mixture in the baking dish. Top with half the mozzarella and parmesan cheeses.
  5. Add the remaining pasta mixture and top with the rest of the mozzarella and parmesan.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes.
  7. Remove foil and bake for another 10–15 minutes, until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  8. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Can be assembled ahead and refrigerated until ready to bake.
  • Freeze unbaked ziti for up to 2 months, bake from frozen with additional time.
  • Customize with ground meat, spinach, or different cheeses.
  • Add crushed red pepper for a spicy kick.
  • Use cottage cheese as a ricotta substitute if needed.
