Apple and Brie Puff Pastry Bites are a simple yet elegant appetizer featuring buttery puff pastry, creamy brie, sweet apple slices, and a touch of honey or jam. Perfect for parties, holidays, or cozy nights in, these bites are flaky, flavorful, and fast.

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 4 oz brie cheese, cut into small chunks
  • 1 apple (such as honeycrisp or granny smith), thinly sliced
  • 12 tablespoons honey or apple jelly (optional)
  • Fresh thyme or rosemary (optional, for garnish)
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Flour, for dusting surface

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Lightly flour a surface and roll out the puff pastry. Cut into approximately 2×2 inch squares.
  3. Place a piece of brie and an apple slice in the center of each square.
  4. Optionally, drizzle with honey or add a dab of apple jelly.
  5. Fold corners slightly or leave open-faced. Brush edges with egg wash.
  6. Transfer to baking sheet and bake for 15–18 minutes until golden and puffed.
  7. Let cool slightly, then garnish with fresh thyme or rosemary. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Add chopped pecans or walnuts for crunch.
  • Sprinkle apples with cinnamon or nutmeg for a spiced version.
  • Use fig or apricot jam instead of honey for depth.
  • Swap brie with goat cheese or camembert for variety.
  • Reheat in oven for best texture; avoid microwaving.
