Warm, sweet breakfast quesadillas filled with tender cinnamon-spiced apples and creamy cheese, crisped in a skillet for a quick and comforting morning treat.

Ingredients

  • 4 flour tortillas
  • 2 medium apples, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese or shredded mozzarella
  • Honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced apples, brown sugar, and cinnamon, and cook for 5–7 minutes until the apples are soft and lightly caramelized.
  3. Remove the apple mixture from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Place a tortilla in the same skillet over medium heat.
  5. Spread cream cheese or sprinkle shredded cheese on one half of the tortilla.
  6. Spoon the warm apple mixture over the cheese.
  7. Fold the tortilla in half and cook until golden and crisp on both sides.
  8. Repeat with remaining tortillas.
  9. Slice and serve warm, with honey, maple syrup, or powdered sugar if desired.

Notes

  • Firm apples like Honeycrisp or Granny Smith work best.
  • Add chopped nuts for extra crunch.
  • Pear slices can be used instead of apples.
  • Reheat in a skillet or toaster oven for best texture.
