This Balsamic Strawberry Caprese is a sweet-and-savory twist on the traditional Caprese salad, swapping tomatoes for juicy strawberries. Paired with creamy mozzarella, fresh basil, and a tangy balsamic glaze, it’s a fresh, elegant dish perfect for summer.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella, sliced or use mozzarella balls
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic glaze (or reduced balsamic vinegar)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Hull and slice the strawberries. Slice the mozzarella and rinse and pat dry the basil leaves.
  2. Arrange strawberry slices and mozzarella alternately on a serving platter, tucking basil leaves between the layers.
  3. Drizzle with olive oil and balsamic glaze.
  4. Sprinkle lightly with salt and pepper.
  5. Serve immediately while fresh and chilled.

Notes

  • Use burrata instead of mozzarella for a richer variation.
  • Add arugula or toasted nuts for extra texture and depth.
  • Flavored balsamic vinegars (like fig or strawberry) enhance the fruity notes.
  • Assemble just before serving for best results.
