Bang Bang chicken skewers are juicy grilled chicken chunks drizzled with a creamy, spicy-sweet sauce. Bold and flavorful, these skewers are perfect for parties, summer cookouts, or a quick weeknight dinner packed with heat and crave-worthy sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs, cut into chunks
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Wooden or metal skewers
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 12 tbsp sriracha (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • 1 tsp lime juice (optional)
  • Chopped parsley or green onions, for garnish

Instructions

  1. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning.
  2. Toss chicken chunks with olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
  3. Thread the chicken onto skewers and set aside.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, honey, and lime juice until smooth to make the bang bang sauce.
  5. Preheat grill to medium heat. Grill chicken skewers for 10–12 minutes, turning occasionally, until fully cooked and nicely charred.
  6. Drizzle the bang bang sauce over the hot skewers or serve on the side for dipping.
  7. Garnish with chopped parsley or green onions and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use Greek yogurt instead of mayo for a lighter sauce.
  • Swap chicken for shrimp or tofu as a variation.
  • Add more sriracha or cayenne for extra heat.
  • Serve over rice bowls with veggies for a complete meal.
  • Bake at 400°F for 20–25 minutes if not grilling; broil briefly for char.
