Burger bowls are a deconstructed take on the classic burger—minus the bun and packed with fresh, flavorful toppings. Juicy seasoned ground beef, crisp veggies, melty cheese, and creamy sauce come together in a bowl for a satisfying, low-carb meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (or turkey, chicken, or plant-based alternative)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 4 cups romaine or iceberg lettuce, chopped
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup dill pickles, sliced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or American cheese
  • 1/2 cup burger sauce (mayo, ketchup, mustard, pickle juice mixed)
  • Optional: avocado, jalapeños, sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Break it into crumbles and cook until browned and fully done. Set aside.
  2. Prepare serving bowls with chopped lettuce as the base.
  3. Top with cooked beef, cherry tomatoes, red onion, pickles, cheese, and any optional toppings.
  4. Drizzle burger sauce over the top.
  5. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use turkey, grilled chicken, or plant-based protein for variety.
  • Add black beans, corn, or chipotle mayo for a southwest twist.
  • Swap burger sauce for ranch, blue cheese, or hot sauce for different flavor profiles.
  • Store beef and toppings separately from lettuce to keep everything fresh for meal prep.
  • Roasted sweet potatoes or a soft-boiled egg make great additions for a heartier bowl.
