This Cabbage and Beef Stir-Fry is a quick, satisfying one-pan meal loaded with savory ground beef, tender-crisp cabbage, and simple seasonings. It’s comforting, versatile, and perfect for busy weeknights or easy meal prep.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (or turkey or chicken)
  • 1 small head of green cabbage, shredded
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: red pepper flakes or sriracha for heat

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  3. Stir in onion and garlic; cook for 2–3 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Add shredded cabbage and continue stir-frying until cabbage is tender but still slightly crisp.
  5. Stir in soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), sesame oil, and any optional spices. Mix well.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Don’t overcook the cabbage—keep it slightly crisp for best texture.
  • Use pre-shredded cabbage to save prep time.
  • Great served over rice, noodles, or cauliflower rice.
  • Can be made vegetarian with tofu, tempeh, or extra vegetables.
  • Add carrots, bell peppers, or mushrooms for variety.
