Caramel apple puppy chow is a quick, no-bake fall treat made with Rice Chex cereal coated in white chocolate, caramel, apple cider mix, and powdered sugar. Crunchy, sweet, and packed with cozy autumn flavors, it’s perfect for parties, gifting, or snacking.

Ingredients

  • 8 cups Rice Chex cereal
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips or white almond bark
  • 1/2 cup caramel bits (or chopped soft caramel candies)
  • 2 packets apple cider drink mix (powdered)
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (optional)
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped dried apple pieces (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place the Rice Chex cereal in a large mixing bowl and set aside.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the white chocolate chips and caramel bits in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth.
  3. Stir in the apple cider drink mix and cinnamon, if using.
  4. Pour the melted mixture over the cereal and gently stir to coat all pieces evenly.
  5. Transfer the coated cereal into a large zip-top bag with the powdered sugar.
  6. Seal and shake the bag until the cereal is fully coated with powdered sugar.
  7. Spread the puppy chow onto parchment paper and let it cool completely.
  8. Optional: Toss in dried apple pieces once cooled.
  9. Store in an airtight container at room temperature.

  • Drizzle with melted dark chocolate or extra caramel for added richness.
  • Warm in a 200°F oven for 5–7 minutes to refresh if it becomes soft.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
