A creamy, savory, and festive Christmas cheese ball coated in herbs, cranberries, or nuts—an easy make-ahead appetizer perfect for holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, freshly shredded
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 23 tbsp chopped green onions or chives
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1/3 cup chopped dried cranberries or parsley (for coating)
  • 1/3 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional, for coating)

Instructions

  1. Beat softened cream cheese in a mixing bowl until smooth.
  2. Add shredded cheddar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, green onions, salt, and pepper. Mix until fully combined.
  3. Scoop mixture onto plastic wrap and shape into a ball.
  4. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight, to firm.
  5. Roll chilled cheese ball in chopped cranberries, herbs, nuts, or a combination.
  6. Transfer to a serving plate and let soften slightly before serving with crackers or vegetables.
