Cheesy Ranch Potatoes and Smoked Sausage is a hearty, one-pan comfort food dish featuring tender, golden-baked potatoes, smoky sausage, melty cheddar cheese, and zesty ranch seasoning—perfect for weeknights or potlucks.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs baby potatoes or russet potatoes, diced
  • 14 oz smoked sausage, sliced into rounds
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 packet (1 oz) ranch seasoning mix
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or melted butter
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: chopped green onions or parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F and grease a large baking dish or sheet pan.
  2. In a large bowl, toss diced potatoes with olive oil, ranch seasoning, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
  3. Spread the potatoes in the prepared baking dish and bake for 25 minutes, stirring halfway through.
  4. Add the sliced smoked sausage to the potatoes, stir to combine, and return to the oven for another 20–25 minutes until everything is golden and tender.
  5. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top and bake for an additional 5 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Remove from oven and garnish with chopped green onions or parsley if desired. Serve hot.

  • Mix cheddar with Monterey Jack for extra creaminess.
  • Add red pepper flakes or use spicy sausage for heat.
