Quick and flavorful chicken tacos made with juicy, well-seasoned chicken and fresh toppings, all tucked into warm tortillas. An easy, customizable meal perfect for busy weeknights or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 500 g chicken breast or thighs, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 8 small tortillas (corn or flour)
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup thinly sliced red onion
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream or yogurt
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, toss the sliced chicken with olive oil, chili powder, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and lime juice.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the seasoned chicken and cook, stirring occasionally, until fully cooked and lightly browned.
  4. While the chicken cooks, warm the tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave.
  5. Assemble the tacos by adding chicken to each tortilla.
  6. Top with lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, shredded cheese, sour cream or yogurt, and fresh cilantro.
  7. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Add bell peppers and onions to the skillet for fajita-style tacos.
  • Increase heat with cayenne pepper or hot sauce.
  • Leftover chicken can be used for salads or wraps.
