This Cinnamon Roll Apple Lasagna is a cozy, layered dessert that combines gooey cinnamon rolls, warm spiced apples, and a luscious caramel drizzle. It’s the perfect fusion of apple pie and cinnamon rolls—ideal for brunch, dessert, or holiday breakfasts.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups peeled, diced apples (about 4 medium apples)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 cans refrigerated cinnamon rolls (8 per can), icing reserved
  • All-purpose flour (for dusting)
  • ¼ cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F and grease an 8×8-inch baking dish.
  2. Make the apple filling: In a bowl, combine apples, sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. Prepare the cinnamon rolls: Slice and flatten each cinnamon roll into 3–4 inch disks.
  4. Layer the dish: Bottom layer of flattened rolls, half of apple mixture, drizzle of caramel, second layer of rolls, remaining apples and caramel, final layer of rolls and remaining caramel.
  5. Bake covered for 30 minutes.
  6. Uncover and bake another 10 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  7. Cool for 15 minutes before drizzling reserved icing on top.
  8. Slice and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use a mix of tart and sweet apples (e.g., Granny Smith + Honeycrisp).
  • Can be assembled ahead and baked in the morning.
  • Add chopped pecans or walnuts for crunch between layers.
