Creamy Garlic Penne Pasta is a quick and comforting dish made with tender pasta tossed in a rich garlic-infused cream sauce. It’s simple, flavorful, and perfect as a main course or side.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz penne pasta
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream or half-and-half
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 oz cream cheese (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook penne in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Reduce heat and pour in the cream. Stir to combine.
  4. Add Parmesan and cream cheese (if using). Stir and simmer for 3–5 minutes until sauce thickens.
  5. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if desired.
  6. Add cooked penne to the sauce and toss to coat evenly.
  7. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.

Notes

  • Add chicken, shrimp, or bacon for a protein boost.
  • Mix in veggies like spinach, peas, or broccoli for a heartier dish.
  • Use gluten-free pasta for a gluten-free version.
  • Stir in a splash of milk when reheating to restore creaminess.
  • Freshly grated Parmesan melts better and gives the best flavor.
