These Crispy Bang Bang Salmon Bites feature tender, juicy salmon chunks coated in a crunchy panko crust and paired with a creamy, sweet, and mildly spicy bang bang sauce. Perfect for appetizers, party snacks, or quick dinners, they can be fried, baked, or air-fried for a lighter option while still delivering bold flavor and satisfying texture.

Ingredients

  • For the salmon bites:
  • Fresh skinless salmon fillets, cut into bite-sized chunks
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • All-purpose flour
  • Eggs, beaten
  • Panko breadcrumbs
  • Oil, for frying (or baking alternative)
  • For the bang bang sauce:
  • Mayonnaise
  • Sweet chili sauce
  • Sriracha (optional, for more heat)
  • Honey (optional, for extra sweetness)

Instructions

  1. Pat salmon dry, cut into bite-sized pieces, and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Set up breading station: flour in one bowl, beaten eggs in another, panko breadcrumbs in the third.
  3. Dredge salmon in flour, dip in egg, and coat with panko.
  4. Fry: Heat oil over medium-high; fry salmon bites for 2–3 minutes per side until golden and cooked through.
  5. Bake: Arrange on parchment-lined baking sheet and bake at 400°F (200°C) for 12–15 minutes until crispy.
  6. Air fry: Cook at 400°F (200°C) for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway.
  7. Make sauce: Whisk mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, and sriracha until smooth.
  8. Serve salmon bites hot, drizzled or tossed with sauce.

Notes

  • Swap salmon for shrimp, cod, or chicken.
  • Make low-carb with almond flour or crushed pork rinds instead of panko.
  • Bake or air fry for a lighter version.
  • Adjust sauce sweetness or heat with honey or extra sriracha.
