Crispy Shrimp Toast Bites are savory, golden-fried snacks featuring a smooth shrimp paste spread on soft white bread. Perfect as an appetizer or indulgent snack, they’re crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 10 slices white bread, crusts removed
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)
  • 1 green onion, finely chopped (optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. In a food processor, blend shrimp, egg white, soy sauce, garlic, salt, and pepper into a smooth paste. Add sesame oil and green onions if using.
  2. Cut each slice of crustless white bread into quarters. Spread a teaspoon of shrimp paste on one side of each piece.
  3. Heat about 1 inch of oil in a skillet or deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Place toast pieces shrimp-side down into the hot oil. Fry in batches for 3–4 minutes until golden and crispy. Flip and fry the bread side for another 30 seconds if needed.
  5. Remove and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, or spicy mayo.

Notes

  • Add fish sauce or oyster sauce for deeper umami flavor.
  • For a spicy kick, add chili paste or Sriracha to the shrimp paste.
  • Can be baked at 400°F for 10–12 minutes as a lighter alternative.
  • Press sesame seeds onto the shrimp paste before frying for extra crunch.
  • Best served fresh. Reheat in oven or air fryer for crispiness.
