Ingredients

  • 4 cubed steaks

  • 1 packet au jus gravy mix
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. Place cubed steaks in the bottom of the crock pot.

  3. Pour the mixture evenly over the steaks.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6–8 hours or high for 4 hours, until steak is tender and gravy has thickened.
  5. Serve hot over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles.

Notes

  • Add sliced mushrooms or onions for extra depth.
  • Stir in heavy cream or sour cream before serving for a creamier gravy.
  • Use cream of mushroom soup instead of cream of chicken for a variation.
  • Add crushed red pepper or cayenne for a spicy twist.
  • This dish freezes well; cool completely before storing.
