Crunchy Crispy Air Fryer Chicken & Mozzarella Wraps are loaded with juicy, crispy chicken and melted mozzarella wrapped in a golden, crunchy tortilla shell cooked in the air fryer. They feel indulgent yet are quick and easy — a satisfying meal for lunch, dinner or snack time.

Ingredients

  • 24 large flour tortillas or wraps
  • 2 cups cooked crispy chicken strips (homemade breaded/air‑fried or store‑bought/frozen) [see note]
  • 1½ cups shredded or sliced mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • ½ cup diced tomatoes (optional)
  • 2 Tbsp mayonnaise, ranch or garlic sauce (optional spread)
  • Olive oil spray or melted butter (for brushing exterior of the wraps)
  • Salt & black pepper, to taste
  • Optional additions: thinly sliced red onions, pickles, hot sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to about **375 °F (190 °C)**. ([turn0search0], [turn0search5])
  2. If your chicken isn’t cooked/crispy yet: cook the chicken strips (breaded or plain) in the air fryer or skillet until golden and fully cooked through.
  3. Lay out each tortilla. If using, spread a thin layer of mayo, ranch or garlic sauce in the centre.
  4. Divide the cooked crispy chicken among the tortillas. Top with mozzarella, lettuce and tomatoes (if using). Season lightly with salt & pepper.
  5. Fold the sides of each tortilla inwards, then roll them tightly into wrap form.
  6. Lightly spray or brush the outside of each wrap with olive oil or melted butter. Place wraps seam‑side down in the air fryer basket, being sure they are not overlapping.
  7. Air fry for about **6–8 minutes**, flipping halfway through, until the tortilla is golden and crisp and the cheese is melted. (Similar wrap air‑fryer times: 5‑7 minutes for crispy chicken & cheese wraps) ([turn0search5])
  8. Remove from the air fryer, let rest for ~1 minute, then slice in half and serve hot, with your favourite dipping sauce if desired.

Notes

  • You can use frozen or store‑bought crispy chicken strips to speed things up — just reheated/crisped in the air fryer works well. ([turn0search1])
  • If you prefer a lighter wrap, use low‑carb or whole wheat tortillas, or even large lettuce leaves as the wrap shell. ([turn0search1])
  • To ensure the wrap stays sealed in the air fryer, roll it tight and place seam side down. Some recipes suggest pre‑spraying/spreading’s inside to keep moisture down. ([turn0search4])
  • For maximum crispness of the wrap exterior, give each wrap a light brush/spray of oil. Many air‑fried wrap recipes emphasize this. ([turn0search0])
