Ingredients
2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
1/4 cup strawberry jam or preserves
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1–2 tbsp milk
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Cut puff pastry sheets into squares and gently shape each into a heart by rounding the edges and pinching the bottom.
In a bowl, mix cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Spoon the cream cheese mixture into the center of each pastry, leaving a border.
Mix chopped strawberries with strawberry jam and spoon over the cream cheese layer.
Brush the pastry edges with beaten egg.
Bake for 16–18 minutes until puffed and golden.
Whisk powdered sugar and milk to make a glaze.
Drizzle glaze over slightly cooled danishes before serving.
Notes
Keep puff pastry cold before baking for best puff.
Frozen strawberries can be used if thawed and well drained.
