French Dip Tortilla Roll Ups are a handheld twist on the classic sandwich—filled with tender roast beef, melty cheese, and served with a savory au jus dipping sauce. They’re quick, flavorful, and perfect for lunch, dinner, or party appetizers.

Ingredients

    • 4 large flour tortillas
    • 1216 slices deli roast beef (thinly sliced)
    • 4 slices provolone cheese
    • 12 tbsp butter (for pan-frying)
    • Optional: horseradish sauce or mayo for spreading

For the au jus dipping sauce:

  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp soy sauce
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Lay out tortillas and spread a thin layer of horseradish or mayo if using.
  2. Layer roast beef and a slice of provolone on each tortilla.
  3. Roll up tightly like a burrito, tucking in the ends to seal.
  4. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add butter.
  5. Place roll ups seam-side down and cook 2–3 minutes per side, until golden and cheese is melted.
  6. While roll ups cook, combine beef broth, Worcestershire, soy sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, and black pepper in a small saucepan.
  7. Simmer the sauce for 3–5 minutes to blend flavors. Pour into ramekins for dipping.
  8. Slice roll ups in half and serve warm with au jus on the side.

Notes

  • Try mozzarella or Swiss cheese for variation.
  • Add sautéed onions or mushrooms for extra flavor.
  • Bake instead of pan-fry: 400°F (200°C) for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway.
  • Use gluten-free or low-carb tortillas if needed.
  • Shredded leftover pot roast works great instead of deli meat.
