Fried Cheese Stuffed Doritos are a fun, over-the-top snack made with gooey melted cheese coated in a crunchy Doritos crust. Perfect for parties, game days, or indulgent snacking, these bites combine the best of mozzarella sticks and bold Doritos flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 block mozzarella cheese or 12 mozzarella string cheese sticks
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 2 cups Doritos (Nacho Cheese, Cool Ranch, or preferred flavor), crushed into fine crumbs
  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)
  • Optional: ranch, marinara, or dipping sauce of choice

Instructions

  1. Cut mozzarella into cubes or use whole string cheese sticks.
  2. Crush Doritos into fine crumbs using a food processor or zip-top bag.
  3. Set up a breading station with three bowls: flour, beaten eggs with milk, and crushed Doritos.
  4. Coat cheese in flour, dip in egg mixture, then roll in Doritos crumbs, pressing firmly.
  5. For extra crunch, repeat the egg and Doritos coating.
  6. Place coated cheese on a tray and freeze for at least 30 minutes.
  7. Heat oil in a skillet or deep fryer to 350°F. Fry cheese bites in batches for 2–3 minutes until golden and crispy.
  8. Drain on paper towels and serve hot with dipping sauces.

Notes

  • Freezing before frying prevents cheese from leaking.
  • Experiment with Doritos flavors like Flamin’ Hot or Spicy Sweet Chili.
  • Cheddar or pepper jack cheese can be used instead of mozzarella.
  • For a lighter option, bake at 400°F for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway.
  • Best served fresh, but leftovers can be reheated in an air fryer or oven.
