Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 12 tbsp ketchup or mustard (optional)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or American cheese
  • 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough or pizza dough
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley or chives (optional)
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef with onion and garlic until browned. Season with salt, pepper, and optional ketchup or mustard. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. Roll out dough and cut into rectangles or triangles depending on shape. Spoon beef mixture onto each piece, top with shredded cheese, and roll up like crescents or pinwheels.
  4. Place rollups seam-side down on the baking sheet.
  5. Mix melted butter with garlic powder and a pinch of salt. Brush over rollups. Sprinkle with sesame seeds or herbs if using.
  6. Bake for 15–20 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Let cool slightly and serve warm with dipping sauces.

Notes

  • Add pickles, jalapeños to the filling for extra flavor.
  • Swap beef for ground turkey or plant-based alternatives for a lighter option.
  • Use homemade dough for a from-scratch version.
  • Freeze before or after baking for make-ahead convenience.
  • Brush with extra garlic butter after baking for even more flavor.
