Garlic Butter Chicken is a quick and comforting dish made with juicy chicken seared to perfection and coated in a rich garlic butter sauce. Ready in under 30 minutes, it’s a one-skillet meal perfect for weeknights or special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced or finely chopped
  • 4 tbsp butter (divided)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 tsp paprika (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth or water
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice (optional)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season chicken with salt, pepper, and paprika (if using).
  2. Heat 2 tbsp butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Sear chicken for 5–6 minutes per side, or until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  4. Reduce heat to medium and add remaining 2 tbsp butter. Sauté garlic for about 1 minute, until fragrant.
  5. Add chicken broth to deglaze the pan, scraping up browned bits.
  6. Return chicken to skillet and spoon garlic butter sauce over it. Simmer for 2–3 minutes.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley and a squeeze of lemon juice, if desired, before serving.

Notes

  • Add a splash of cream for a richer sauce.
  • Include mushrooms or spinach for extra veggies.
  • Grated Parmesan or white wine can enhance the sauce flavor.
  • Add red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, pasta, or crusty bread.
