Garlic Butter Shrimp Cheese Toast is a quick and flavorful dish made with crispy bread topped with buttery garlic shrimp and melty cheese, baked until golden and delicious. Perfect as an appetizer, snack, or light meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 baguette or Italian bread, sliced lengthwise
  • 1/2 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined (medium or small)
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley or chives, chopped (for garnish)
  • Optional: 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • Olive oil, for brushing the bread

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Slice bread lengthwise and place cut-side up on the baking sheet. Brush with olive oil.
  3. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  4. Add shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook until pink and opaque (2–3 minutes per side).
  5. Remove shrimp from heat and chop into bite-sized pieces.
  6. Spoon garlic butter and shrimp evenly over the bread halves. Top with mozzarella and parmesan cheese.
  7. Bake for 8–10 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly and bread edges are golden.
  8. Garnish with fresh herbs and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Add a squeeze of lemon juice to shrimp before baking for extra brightness.
  • Mix in a tablespoon of cream cheese with the garlic butter for added richness.
  • Swap shrimp for sautéed mushrooms or roasted veggies for a vegetarian version.
  • Best enjoyed fresh—reheat in the oven for best texture.
