Garlic Parmesan Steak Bites with Mashed Potatoes is a hearty, comforting dish featuring tender, seared steak tossed in garlic-parmesan butter and served over creamy mashed potatoes. It’s a quick, steakhouse-style meal perfect for weeknights or special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs sirloin steak or ribeye, cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter (for searing)
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 34 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
  • 2 lbs Yukon gold or russet potatoes, peeled and chopped
  • 4 tbsp butter (for potatoes)
  • 1/2 cup milk or heavy cream, warmed
  • 2 cloves roasted garlic (optional, for potatoes)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Boil potatoes in salted water until fork-tender, about 15–20 minutes.
  2. Season steak cubes with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  3. Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear steak in batches, about 2 minutes per side, until browned. Remove and set aside.
  4. Reduce heat, add butter and minced garlic to skillet, and sauté 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Return steak to skillet, toss in garlic butter, and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Stir until coated and glossy.
  6. Drain potatoes and mash with butter, warm milk or cream, salt, and pepper. Add roasted garlic if desired.
  7. Serve steak bites over mashed potatoes, spooning extra garlic butter on top. Garnish with parsley.

Notes

  • Use freshly grated Parmesan for best flavor and melt.
  • Ribeye or sirloin are ideal cuts, but strip steak or tenderloin also work.
  • Add Worcestershire or balsamic vinegar for deeper flavor.
  • For a spicy kick, stir in red pepper flakes to the garlic butter.
  • Swap mashed potatoes with cauliflower mash for a lighter option.
