This Grilled Peanut Butter Banana Sandwich is a warm, gooey, golden comfort food made with ripe bananas, melty peanut butter, and buttery crisp bread. A quick and satisfying breakfast, snack, or dessert that’s ready in under 10 minutes!

Ingredients

  • 2 slices hearty sandwich bread (whole wheat, sourdough, or brioche)
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter (creamy or crunchy)
  • 1 ripe banana, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon butter, for spreading on bread

Instructions

  1. Assemble the Sandwich: Spread peanut butter on one side of each bread slice. Layer banana slices on one side and close with the other slice.
  2. Butter the Outside: Spread butter on the outsides of both bread slices.
  3. Grill: Heat a skillet over medium heat. Place sandwich in pan and cook 2–3 minutes per side, pressing gently, until golden brown and heated through.
  4. Slice and Serve: Remove from skillet, let cool briefly, slice in half, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Add a drizzle of honey or maple syrup for sweetness.
  • Try with other nut butters or a sprinkle of cinnamon.
  • Use chocolate chips or Nutella for a dessert version.
  • Best eaten fresh, but can be stored for 1 day and reheated in a skillet.
  • Avoid the microwave or freezer for best texture.
