A quick and hearty pasta dish made with savory ground beef, creamy tomato sauce, and Parmesan cheese. Perfect for busy weeknights, it comes together in just 25 minutes using simple pantry staples.

Ingredients

  • 810 ounces pasta (any shape)
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1/2 medium yellow onion, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 (14-ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • Kosher salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese, plus extra for serving
  • Fresh chopped parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the pasta to al dente according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. While the pasta cooks, heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and chopped onion; cook for about 5 minutes until the beef is browned and onions are soft.
  3. Stir in tomato paste, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes. Add tomato sauce and mix well. Simmer for 3–4 minutes until slightly thickened.
  4. Reduce heat and stir in heavy cream until the sauce is smooth and warmed through.
  5. Add the drained pasta and Parmesan cheese to the skillet. Toss everything to coat evenly.
  6. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  7. Serve hot, topped with more Parmesan and chopped parsley if desired.

Notes

  • Use any pasta shape you have on hand—penne, rotini, fusilli, or elbows all work well.
  • Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
  • Add spinach, peas, or zucchini for extra veggies.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
  • Reheat with a splash of milk or water to restore creaminess.
