These heart-shaped Rice Krispie treats are a fun and festive twist on the classic no-bake dessert. With gooey marshmallows, crispy cereal, and optional decorations, they’re perfect for holidays, parties, or sweet homemade gifts.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1 (10 oz) bag mini marshmallows
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
  • Heart-shaped cookie cutter
  • Sprinkles, melted chocolate, or candy melts (optional, for decorating)

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, melt the butter over medium-low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted and smooth.
  2. Stir in salt and vanilla (if using), then remove from heat.
  3. Quickly fold in Rice Krispies cereal until fully coated.
  4. Press the mixture evenly into a buttered or parchment-lined 9×13-inch pan using a spatula or greased hands.
  5. Let it cool for 15–20 minutes. Then, use a greased heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out treats.
  6. Decorate with sprinkles, melted chocolate, or candy melts as desired.

Notes

  • For softer treats, don’t overheat the marshmallows.
  • Grease your hands or use wax paper to press the mixture without sticking.
  • Metal cookie cutters work best for clean shapes.
