A cheese board is an artful spread of cheeses and complementary snacks like fruits, nuts, spreads, and crackers. It’s a no-cook, customizable centerpiece perfect for entertaining, date nights, or casual meals that always impresses with minimal effort.

Ingredients

  • 35 types of cheese (soft, semi-soft, hard, and blue)
  • Fresh fruits (grapes, berries, apple or pear slices)
  • Dried fruits (figs, apricots, cranberries)
  • Crackers or bread (baguette slices, flatbreads, seeded crackers)
  • Nuts (almonds, walnuts, pistachios)
  • Spreads (honey, jam, mustard, chutney)
  • Olives or pickles (optional)
  • Fresh herbs (rosemary, thyme – for garnish)
  • Cured meats (optional)

Instructions

  1. Select a large board or platter as your base (wood or marble).
  2. Place 3–5 cheeses with varied textures and flavors spaced across the board.
  3. Add cured meats near the cheeses, folding or rolling them.
  4. Place small bowls of spreads, pickles, or olives on the board.
  5. Add fresh and dried fruits in clusters.
  6. Scatter crackers and bread slices in various spots.
  7. Fill gaps with nuts and garnish with fresh herbs.
  8. Let cheese sit at room temperature for 20–30 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Make it vegetarian by skipping meats and adding marinated vegetables or extra spreads.
  • Try a sweet version with dessert cheeses, fruits, chocolate, and honey.
  • Assemble ahead of time (without crackers), wrap and refrigerate.
  • Let cheese return to room temperature before serving for best flavor.
  • Use seasonal or local ingredients for freshness and variety.
