Individual Apple Crumbles are cozy, single-serving desserts filled with cinnamon-spiced apples and topped with a golden oat crumble. Easy to make and perfect for entertaining or weeknight treats, these mini crumbles deliver all the comfort of apple pie without the fuss.

Ingredients

  • 3 medium apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour or cornstarch

For the crumble topping:

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • Optional: 1/4 cup chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease 4–6 ramekins.
  2. In a bowl, toss chopped apples with lemon juice, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, and flour or cornstarch. Divide evenly among ramekins.
  3. In another bowl, combine flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Cut in butter using fingers or pastry cutter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in nuts if using.
  4. Top each ramekin with the crumble mixture, covering apples completely.
  5. Place ramekins on a baking sheet and bake for 25–30 minutes until tops are golden and apples are bubbling.
  6. Let cool slightly and serve warm, optionally with ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

  • Use Granny Smith or Honeycrisp apples for best flavor and texture.
  • Add pears, berries, or white chocolate for fun variations.
  • Make gluten-free by using almond flour and certified GF oats.
  • Assemble ahead and bake fresh before serving.
  • Reheat in the oven to restore crisp topping texture.
