Maple Orange Glazed Chicken Quarters are roasted to golden perfection and brushed with a sticky-sweet glaze made from maple syrup, orange juice, garlic, and spices. This savory-sweet dish is easy to make, full of flavor, and perfect for both weeknights and special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 4 chicken leg quarters
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • For the glaze:
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1 tsp orange zest
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a baking dish or sheet pan.
  2. Pat chicken dry and rub with olive oil. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  3. Place chicken skin-side up in the baking dish and roast for 30 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, combine maple syrup, orange juice, zest, garlic, soy sauce, and optional Dijon and red pepper flakes in a saucepan.
  5. Simmer the glaze over medium heat for 5–7 minutes until slightly thickened.
  6. After 30 minutes, brush glaze over chicken and return to oven.
  7. Continue roasting for 15–20 more minutes, basting once or twice more, until skin is crisp and internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  8. Let rest a few minutes before serving with extra glaze drizzled on top.

Notes

  • Substitute chicken thighs or drumsticks if quarters aren’t available.
  • Add rosemary or thyme to the glaze for a herby touch.
  • Honey can be used instead of maple syrup.
  • A splash of bourbon adds depth to the glaze.
  • Grill instead of roasting for a charred finish—apply glaze during last few minutes.
