Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 lb Italian sausage (mild or spicy)
  • 1 cup pepperoni slices
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 jar (about 1416 oz) pizza sauce or marinara
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
  • 1 bag (28–32 oz) frozen tater tots
  • Fresh parsley or basil, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef, sausage, and diced onion until browned and cooked through. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in pizza sauce, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and pepper. Simmer for 2–3 minutes.
  4. Spread meat mixture evenly in the prepared casserole dish.
  5. Top with shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
  6. Arrange frozen tater tots in a single layer on top.
  7. Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes, until tater tots are golden and crispy.
  8. Optional: Add more shredded cheese during the last 5 minutes of baking.
  9. Cool for a few minutes before garnishing with fresh herbs and serving.
