Melted Jack O’ Lantern Brownies are a fun and festive Halloween treat combining rich fudgy brownies with gooey marshmallows and creative jack-o’-lantern decorations. Perfect for parties or themed baking nights.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 12 large marshmallows
  • 1 cup orange candy melts (or white chocolate + orange food coloring)
  • Black decorating gel or edible marker
  • Mini chocolate chips or sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking pan with parchment paper or grease it.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients and pour into the prepared pan.
  5. Bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
  6. Cool completely and cut into 12 squares.
  7. Place a large marshmallow on each brownie and broil for about 1 minute until puffed and starting to melt.
  8. Spoon melted orange candy melts over each marshmallow, letting it drip down the sides.
  9. Use black decorating gel or edible marker to draw jack-o’-lantern faces and add extra decorations if desired.

Notes

  • Use box brownie mix for a quicker version.
  • Add chocolate chips or nuts to the batter for extra texture.
  • Color white chocolate or frosting with gel food coloring if candy melts are unavailable.
  • Use white candy melts for ghost faces instead of pumpkins.
  • Switch colors for different holiday themes.
