This old-fashioned peach cobbler features sweet, juicy peaches baked under a golden, buttery crust and finished with a warm bourbon-maple glaze for a nostalgic yet elevated dessert.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups fresh or frozen peaches, peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour (for peaches)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (for batter)
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons bourbon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, toss peaches with granulated sugar, lemon juice, and 1 tablespoon flour. Set aside to macerate.
  3. Place butter in a 9×13-inch baking dish and melt it in the oven.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together 1 cup flour, baking powder, salt, and milk to form a batter.
  5. Pour batter over the melted butter in the baking dish—do not stir.
  6. Spoon the peaches and their juices evenly over the batter.
  7. Bake for 40–45 minutes, until the crust is golden and edges are crisp.
  8. While baking, combine brown sugar, maple syrup, and bourbon in a small saucepan. Simmer until slightly thickened, about 5 minutes.
  9. Drizzle the glaze over the cobbler right after removing from the oven. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Mix in other fruits like blueberries or raspberries for variety.
  • Sprinkle cinnamon sugar or coarse sugar over the top before baking for added crunch.
  • Use canned peaches if fresh or frozen aren’t available—just drain well.
