Pizza Toast is a fast, customizable snack that delivers all the flavors of pizza with none of the fuss. Made with bread, sauce, cheese, and your favorite toppings, it’s perfect for quick meals or snacks.

Ingredients

  • 2 slices of bread (white, sourdough, whole wheat, or your choice)
  • 2 tablespoons pizza sauce or marinara
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 68 pepperoni slices or other toppings of choice
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil or butter (optional, for brushing bread)
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano or Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Fresh basil leaves (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Lightly toast bread slices in a toaster or oven to prevent sogginess.
  2. Spread 1 tablespoon of pizza sauce over each toasted slice.
  3. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese evenly on top of the sauce.
  4. Add pepperoni or desired toppings over the cheese.
  5. Sprinkle oregano or Italian seasoning on top.
  6. Place slices on a baking sheet and broil for 2–4 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Remove from oven, let cool slightly, and garnish with basil or red pepper flakes if desired.

Notes

  • Use thick bread like sourdough or Texas toast to hold up to toppings.
  • Try pesto or garlic butter as a base for flavor variation.
  • Swap mozzarella for cheddar, provolone, or any melty cheese you like.
  • Best enjoyed fresh, but can be stored in the fridge up to 2 days.
