Simple and delicious tater tot casserole is a comforting, easy-to-make dish featuring seasoned ground meat, creamy sauce, mixed veggies, and a crispy tater tot topping. It’s perfect for busy nights, family dinners, or make-ahead meals.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef or ground turkey
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups frozen mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, corn)
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of mushroom or cream of chicken soup
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 (28–32 oz) bag frozen tater tots
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce, 1/2 tsp paprika, chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground meat with chopped onion and garlic until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Season with salt, pepper, and optional Worcestershire sauce or paprika.
  4. Stir in frozen vegetables and cream of mushroom soup until well combined.
  5. Spread the mixture evenly in the baking dish and sprinkle with shredded cheese.
  6. Arrange frozen tater tots in a single layer on top.
  7. Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden and the casserole is bubbling.
  8. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with green onions if desired.
