Southern Grape Salad is a creamy, sweet side dish made with fresh grapes tossed in a smooth cream cheese and sour cream dressing, topped with brown sugar and pecans for a crunchy finish. It’s perfect for potlucks, holidays, or as a light dessert.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups red seedless grapes
  • 4 cups green seedless grapes
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (for topping)
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Wash and thoroughly dry the grapes. Remove them from the stems and place in a large bowl.
  2. In a separate bowl, beat together the cream cheese, sour cream, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  3. Pour the cream mixture over the grapes and gently stir until all grapes are evenly coated.
  4. Cover and chill the salad in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour to let the flavors meld.
  5. Just before serving, sprinkle the brown sugar and chopped pecans evenly over the top.

Notes

  • Use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream for a tangier flavor.
  • Substitute walnuts for pecans if desired.
  • Add chopped apples or bananas for extra fruit texture.
  • Include a pinch of cinnamon in the topping for a fall twist.
  • Add the topping right before serving to keep it crunchy.
