This crowd-pleasing, make-ahead dessert is perfect for potlucks, parties, or when you want a sweet treat that looks impressive and tastes even better—no oven required!

Ingredients

  • Cheesecake Filling:
  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup (8 oz) sour cream
  • 1/2 cup cold milk
  • 1 (3.4 oz) package instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 1 (12 oz) carton frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • Crust Layer:
  • 1 1/2 cups crushed butter-flavored crackers (about 38 crackers)
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • Fruit Layer:
  • 2 (21 oz) cans strawberry pie filling
  • Optional Garnish:
  • Fresh sliced strawberries

Instructions

  1. Beat softened cream cheese until smooth. Blend in sour cream until fully incorporated.
  2. In another bowl, whisk cold milk and pudding mix for 2 minutes until thickened.
  3. Gently fold the pudding mixture and whipped topping into the cream cheese mixture to create the cheesecake base.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix crushed butter-flavored crackers with melted butter until evenly coated and crumbly.
  5. In a 2½-quart trifle dish, layer half of the cheesecake filling, half of the cracker crumbs, and one can of strawberry pie filling. Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients.
  6. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the layers to set and flavors to meld.
  7. Top with fresh sliced strawberries just before serving, if desired.

Notes

  • Substitute graham crackers or shortbread cookies for the butter crackers.
  • Fresh strawberries between layers add texture and flavor.
  • Use blueberry, cherry, or peach pie filling for variation.
  • Divide into small jars or cups for individual servings.
  • Add lemon zest to the cheesecake mixture for a citrus twist.
