Ingredients
12 chocolate or vanilla cupcakes (homemade or store-bought)
1/2 cup raspberry or strawberry jam (for filling)
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
2 cups powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
2–3 tbsp heavy cream or milk
Red food coloring
Optional: 2 tbsp corn syrup mixed with red food coloring
Optional: edible vampire fangs or Halloween-themed toppers
Instructions
Bake cupcakes and let them cool completely if not using store-bought.
Cut a small hole in the center of each cupcake using a knife or apple corer.
Fill each hole with jam to mimic “bloody” centers.
In a bowl, beat softened butter until fluffy. Gradually add powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and cream. Mix until smooth.
Frost cupcakes using a piping bag or spatula, smoothing the tops.
Dip a toothpick or skewer in red food coloring and poke two dots in the frosting to resemble bite marks. Drag slightly downward to mimic dripping blood.
For extra realism, drizzle red-colored corn syrup over the frosting.
Finish with decorative toppers or edible fangs as desired.
Notes
Use red velvet cupcakes for added drama.
Try cherry or red currant filling for variation.
Flavor frosting with almond or peppermint extract for a twist.
Color frosting black or purple for a spookier effect.
Top with candy eyes or sprinkles for a kid-friendly version.
