Ingredients

Cereal Mix

  • 3 cups Cheerios
  • 2 cups Rice Chex
  • 2 cups Wheat Chex
  • 2 cups Corn Chex
  • 1 cup Pretzel Sticks
  • 2-3 cups M&M’s

Chocolate Coating

  • 24 oz White Chocolate, plus an extra 4-8 oz if needed

Instructions

  1. Combine the dry ingredients: In a large bowl, mix together the Cheerios, Rice Chex, Wheat Chex, Corn Chex, pretzel sticks, and M&M’s. Stir well to ensure an even distribution of all components.
  2. Melt the white chocolate: Set up a double boiler and melt the white chocolate according to the package directions, stirring frequently until it is smooth and fully melted.
  3. Coat the cereal mix: Drizzle the melted white chocolate over the mixed cereals and pretzels. Use a wooden spoon or your hands to thoroughly combine the mixture, ensuring every piece is coated. If coverage is insufficient, melt additional chocolate as needed and incorporate it.
  4. Set the mix to harden: Spread the coated mixture evenly onto a large sheet of parchment or wax paper. Allow it to dry and harden for approximately 1 hour at room temperature.
  5. Store and serve: Once the chocolate has solidified, break the mix into medium-sized pieces. Store the 4th of July Mix in an airtight container in the refrigerator or freezer until ready to enjoy.

Notes

  • Swap out the M&M colors to customize this treat for any occasion or holiday theme.
