This Air Fryer Broccoli recipe delivers perfectly crispy and flavorful broccoli florets in just 13 minutes. Tossed with garlic powder, avocado oil, and a hint of lemon, this healthy side dish is dairy-free, gluten-free, low-calorie, and easy to prepare, making it an ideal quick veggie option for any meal.

Ingredients

Broccoli

  • 12 ounces fresh broccoli florets

Seasoning

  • 2 tablespoons avocado oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • Pinch of black pepper

Optional Garnish

  • Lemon – optional for garnish
  • Red pepper flakes – optional for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare Broccoli: Add the broccoli florets to a large mixing bowl. Drizzle with avocado oil and toss well to ensure all pieces are coated.
  2. Season: Sprinkle garlic powder, kosher salt, and black pepper over the broccoli. Toss thoroughly so that the seasoning is evenly distributed.
  3. Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 360°F (182°C). Once ready, spray the air fryer basket with olive oil spray to prevent sticking.
  4. Air Fry: Place the broccoli into the air fryer basket in a mostly even layer—some overlapping is fine. Close the air fryer and cook at 360°F for 8 to 10 minutes, flipping the broccoli halfway through the cooking time. For tray-style air fryers, simply flip the broccoli over at the halfway point.
  5. Serve: After cooking, immediately transfer the broccoli to a serving bowl. Garnish with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice and a sprinkle of red pepper flakes if desired for added flavor and a slight kick.

Notes

  • Adjust cooking time based on air fryer model and broccoli floret size for preferred crispiness.
  • Use fresh broccoli florets for the best texture and flavor; frozen broccoli may not yield the same crisp results.
  • Avocado oil is preferred for its high smoke point, but you can substitute with olive oil if needed.
  • Lemon and red pepper flakes add brightness and heat — both optional but highly recommended.
  • For extra garlic flavor, consider adding fresh minced garlic before air frying if your air fryer allows safe cooking with fresh garlic.
