  • 3 ripe avocados
  • 1 lime, juiced

  • Jalapeño, finely chopped (optional)
  • 1 pinch cumin (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Avocados: Cut the avocados in half and remove the pits. Using a spoon, scoop the avocado flesh into a mixing bowl.
  2. Mash Avocados: Using a fork or potato masher, mash the avocados to your preferred level of creaminess, whether chunky or smooth.
  3. Add Lime Juice: Immediately add the freshly squeezed lime juice to the mashed avocado to prevent browning and to add a citrusy tang.
  4. Mix in Vegetables and Seasonings: Add the finely chopped onion, diced tomatoes, minced garlic, and optional cumin. Stir well to combine all ingredients evenly.
  5. Season with Salt: Add salt to taste, mixing thoroughly. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed to achieve a balanced flavor.
  6. Add Optional Ingredients: Gently fold in chopped cilantro and/or finely chopped jalapeño if desired, adding a fresh and spicy dimension to your guacamole.
  7. Serve or Store: Transfer the guacamole to a serving bowl and enjoy immediately. If not serving right away, cover tightly with plastic wrap pressed onto the surface to prevent oxidation and refrigerate.
