Ingredients

Meat Mixture

  • 2 tablespoons avocado oil
  • 1 ½ pounds ground beef
  • 1 yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

Assembly

  • 1 package (12 sliders) dinner rolls
  • 1 block (8 ounces) cheddar cheese, shredded
  • ¼ dill pickle, thinly sliced (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted (for brushing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and set it aside to prepare for assembling the sliders.
  2. Cook Beef: Heat avocado oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until sizzling, about 1 minute. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it up into small pieces, until browned on all sides, approximately 6-8 minutes.
  3. Sauté Onions: Add the thinly sliced yellow onion to the skillet and cook until tender, about 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally to combine flavors.
  4. Add Sauces and Seasoning: Stir in Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, mayonnaise, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and cook for another 2 minutes, allowing the mixture to thicken slightly. Remove the skillet from heat.
  5. Prepare Rolls: Place the dinner rolls on the lined baking sheet. Slice the rolls horizontally in half, keeping the bottom halves on the baking sheet.
  6. Assemble Sliders: Evenly spread the cooked beef mixture over the bottom halves of the rolls. Top the beef with shredded cheddar cheese and thin dill pickle slices, if using.
  7. Complete Assembly and Bake: Place the top halves of the rolls over the fillings. Brush the tops evenly with melted butter. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until the tops are golden brown and the cheese has fully melted.
  8. Serve: Remove from the oven, slice the sliders between buns if desired, and serve warm for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • How to Store: Store leftover sliders in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 1-2 days to maintain freshness while avoiding sogginess.
  • How to Reheat: Reheat quickly in the microwave for 1-2 minutes, though baking in a 350°F oven or air fryer for 5-10 minutes preserves texture better.
  • How to Freeze: Freeze leftover beef filling separately for best results. Thaw and assemble fresh sliders to prevent soggy buns.
