This easy strawberry cold foam recipe offers a light, fluffy, and refreshing topping perfect for matcha lattes, coffees, or smoothies. It can be made two ways: with a blender using fresh strawberries or with a mason jar using strawberry jam or freeze-dried strawberry powder. Both methods deliver a creamy, flavorful foam with minimal ingredients and quick preparation time.

Ingredients

Blender Method

  • 3 strawberries, rinsed and dried, with stems and leaves removed
  • 3 tablespoons (45 g) heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon (4 g) vanilla extract
  • 1-2 teaspoons sweetener (can use regular sugar, stevia, agave, honey, etc., adjust to taste)

Mason Jar Method

  • 1-2 tablespoons (20 g) strawberry jam (homemade or storebought) or freeze-dried strawberry powder
  • 3 tablespoons (45 g) heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon (4 g) vanilla extract
  • 1-2 teaspoons sweetener (optional; adjust to taste depending on jam sweetness; can use regular sugar, stevia, agave, honey, etc.)

Instructions

  1. Blender Method: In a small blender, combine the 3 fresh strawberries, 3 tablespoons of heavy cream, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Blend on high speed until the mixture becomes thick and creamy, which should take about 1-2 minutes. Taste the foam and stir in 1-2 teaspoons of sweetener as desired for your preferred sweetness level. Serve immediately over your favorite drink and enjoy!
  2. No Blender Method: In a mason jar or other closed container, add 1-2 tablespoons of strawberry jam (or freeze-dried strawberry powder), 3 tablespoons of heavy cream, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Secure the lid tightly and shake vigorously for about 2-3 minutes until the mixture thickens and becomes creamy. Alternatively, you may use a frother to achieve the same texture. Taste the foam and add more jam or sweetener if needed. Pour over beverages and enjoy!

Notes

  • Storage: Store leftover strawberry cold foam in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • If stored, re-blend or re-whip the foam before serving to restore fluffiness and texture.
  • Adjust sweetener quantity according to your taste and depending on the sweetness of your jam or fresh strawberries.
  • This recipe is highly versatile and pairs well with various beverages, including matcha lattes, coffee, and smoothies.
