Tender baked salmon topped with a creamy, tangy feta and fresh herb crust, creating a flavorful Mediterranean-inspired dish that’s elegant yet easy to prepare.

Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons plain Greek yogurt or mayonnaise

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets dry, brush lightly with olive oil, and season with salt and black pepper.
  3. In a bowl, mix together the crumbled feta, parsley, dill, minced garlic, lemon zest, lemon juice, and Greek yogurt until well combined.
  4. Spread the feta mixture evenly over the top of each salmon fillet, pressing gently so it adheres.
  5. Bake for 12–15 minutes, depending on thickness, until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F. The topping should be lightly golden.
  6. Let rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Add 1 tablespoon breadcrumbs to the feta mixture for extra crunch.
  • Mix in chopped sun-dried tomatoes or capers for additional Mediterranean flavor.
  • Use one-third the amount if substituting dried herbs for fresh.
  • For a dairy-free version, use plant-based feta and dairy-free yogurt.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
  • Reheat gently at 300°F to maintain moisture and prevent drying out.
