Delicious honey lime garlic steak bites that are tender, flavorful, and perfect for any occasion. These steak bites are marinated in a vibrant mix of honey, lime juice, garlic, soy sauce, and olive oil, then quickly cooked in a skillet for a juicy and savory appetizer or main dish.

Ingredients

Steak Bites

  • 1 pound of sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces

Marinade

  • 2 tablespoons of honey
  • 2 tablespoons of lime juice (freshly squeezed is best)
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Garnish

  • Chopped cilantro for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Cut the sirloin steak into 1-inch bite-sized cubes and mince the garlic cloves finely for the marinade.
  2. Make Marinade: In a bowl, whisk together honey, freshly squeezed lime juice, minced garlic, soy sauce, olive oil, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Marinate Steak: Add the steak pieces to the marinade and mix thoroughly to coat. Let the steak marinate for at least 15 minutes; for best results, up to an hour in the refrigerator.
  4. Heat Skillet: Place a skillet over medium-high heat and add a splash of oil to prevent sticking.
  5. Cook Steak Bites: Arrange the marinated steak pieces in a single layer in the hot skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side or until the steak reaches your desired doneness and develops a nice sear.
  6. Rest and Serve: Remove the steak bites from the skillet and allow them to rest for a couple of minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped cilantro if desired.

Notes

  • For best flavor and tenderness, marinate the steak for up to an hour in the refrigerator, but avoid marinating too long as the lime juice can make the meat mushy.
  • Use freshly squeezed lime juice for the best taste and vibrant flavor.
  • Make sure not to overcrowd the skillet while cooking the steak bites to ensure even searing.
  • Letting the meat rest before serving helps keep it juicy.
