Ingredients
For the chicken burgers:
1 pound ground chicken
1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)
For the Greek yogurt sauce:
1 cup plain Greek yogurt
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 small clove garlic, minced
1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill (optional)
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
For the tomato-cucumber relish:
1 cup diced tomatoes
1 cup diced cucumber
2 tablespoons finely chopped red onion
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
For serving:
4 burger buns or pita breads
Optional: lettuce leaves, sliced red onion, feta cheese
Instructions
Prepare the yogurt sauce by mixing Greek yogurt, lemon juice, olive oil, garlic, dill, salt, and pepper until smooth. Refrigerate.
In a separate bowl, combine tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and pepper to make the relish. Set aside.
In a large bowl, mix ground chicken, red onion, garlic, parsley, oregano, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper until just combined.
Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape into patties.
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
Cook patties for 5–6 minutes per side until golden and internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
Toast buns or warm pita if desired.
Assemble by placing a patty on each bun or pita, topping with yogurt sauce and tomato-cucumber relish.
Add optional lettuce, red onion, or feta cheese and serve immediately.
Notes
Avoid overmixing ground chicken to keep patties tender.
Grill over medium heat for 5–6 minutes per side for a smoky flavor.
Store patties, sauce, and relish separately for best freshness.
Add grated zucchini or spinach for extra moisture and nutrition.
