Combining fresh strawberries, tart lemon juice, and a simple homemade sugar syrup, it is easy to make with just 4 ingredients and is wonderfully sweet, tangy, and cooling. The vibrant pink color from fresh strawberries and natural fruity flavors make it an enjoyable beverage for gatherings or everyday enjoyment.

Ingredients

For the Strawberry Puree

  • 8 ounces fresh strawberries, hulled, plus more for garnish
  • 1 cup cold water

For the Sugar Syrup

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup cold water

For the Lemonade

  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice, plus lemon slices for garnish
  • 5 cups cold water
  • Ice, for serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare the strawberry puree: Set a fine-mesh strainer over a bowl. In a blender, combine the hulled strawberries and 1 cup of cold water. Blend until smooth, then pour the mixture through the strainer to remove seeds and foam, ensuring a smooth puree.
  2. Make the sugar syrup: In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the granulated sugar and 1 cup of water. Stir frequently and simmer just until the sugar completely dissolves. Remove from heat and let it cool to room temperature.
  3. Mix the lemonade: In a large pitcher, combine the fresh lemon juice, strained strawberry puree, cooled sugar syrup, and the remaining 5 cups of cold water. Stir well to incorporate all ingredients. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
  4. Serve and garnish: Stir a few handfuls of ice into the pitcher. Pour the strawberry lemonade into glasses filled with ice. Garnish each glass with fresh strawberry pieces and lemon slices for an attractive and flavorful presentation.
